December 1999
The first steps
Anbras Productos Industriales took its first steps in December 1999. It was born from the vision of Miguel Vieira, the son of Portuguese immigrants, who after graduating as an industrial engineer worked with great success at a flavor and aroma factory in Brazil.

A start with obstacles
The first import
His performance was such that the company entrusted him with representing its products in Venezuela. But the agreement was closed on the eve of the Vargas tragedy, and the first import arrived some time later, once the ports were operating again. Meanwhile, Miguel added other suppliers to his portfolio.

Angélica arrives
At an international fair in Brazil, Miguel met Angélica Rangel, an industrial chemist who had been working at that same factory for six years. The connection was immediate: they fell in love and, six months later, she was in Venezuela to grow Anbras together with her husband.

Traveling the country
Close to every customer
In 2002 they faced the oil strike, very difficult months for the company’s projects. When everything returned to normal, Miguel and Angélica began traveling the country, visiting customers to help them improve their products.

We have thought about how to give back to Venezuela everything it has given us, and do our part so that the country keeps moving forward. What we can give is what we know: our knowledge in product development and the organization we have built over all these years.

Miguel Vieira
Co-founder · Industrial engineer
The son of Portuguese immigrants. After a successful period in the flavor and aroma industry in Brazil, he founded Anbras in December 1999.
Angélica Rangel
Co-founder · Industrial chemist
She worked for six years in the flavor and aroma industry in Brazil and in 2002 came to Venezuela to grow Anbras. She is the author of the “Practical Guide to Sensory Analysis”, in Spanish.
